A new stunning video from Swedish songstress Amanda Mair. The new video is for ‘House’ one of her standout tracks. Make sure you check out her song ‘Sense‘ which is my favourite. Amanda plays Hoxton Bar & Kitchen on June 13th.

New Treat #93: Amanda Mair

The Swedish seem to be extremely good at making pop music interesting. Robyn and Lykke Li do it very well and here is someone who might be about to follow in their footsteps. Amanda Mair is only 17 years old, yet she’s doing something which reminds me of Fleetwood Mac’s Tango in the Night period. Her music is catchy, it’s fun and most importantly its interesting. I’d also recommend to fans of Florence, Ladyhawke and Bat for Lashes.
Out of the three songs floating around the internet, ‘Sense’ is my favourite. It’s bouncy and a perfect soundtrack to summer. ’Doubt’ is just as strong, filled with big 80′s synth solos and a sing-a-long chorus. ‘House’ opens with a floating piano line, quite different to the other tracks. The song is her best vocal performance and the song soon builds to another full on pop hit. Her debut album is due out in the UK this spring on Labrador and it couldn’t be timed more perfectly.
