Philco Fiction are another one of those really good bands coming out of Scandinavia. I posted a video of the song ‘Finally’ a few weeks back, only to later discover that their other stuff is pretty damn good too. They make perfectly crafted pop songs with swirling electro-pop melodies, string flourishes, Bjork-strangeness and all topped off by the wintery voice of Turid Alida Solberg.
They released an EP named Finally EP last year which featured the songs Help!, Horizon, and Finally, of which Finally is the clear highlight. They also released a slightly strange single called Dan iel. The album Give us to the Lions is released on April 15th in the UK. The band play couple of UK tour dates which are listed below.
