Matt Corby
I have been spending an awful lot of time listening to Matt Corby. Everything he has done is so wonderful, I cannot wait for an album to be released, he deserves so much more recognition than he has currently. I think he is the only person I could seriously compare to Jeff Buckley- it’s the voice.
The Cinematic Orchestra- To Build a Home
I have never listened to this band before until I came across this by chance on Twitter. It’s stunning.
David C Clements- Video Games (LDR cover) (free download)
A crazy amount of people have tried to cover this song, from Kasabian to Ben Howard. This version is the only version I have come across which actually works. His voice is great and I like the use of the harmonica.
Hidden Highways- My Rifle, My Pony and Me (free download)
This song sounds like it belongs in a 1950′s Southern American film, which is because it was originally. The song is a cover from the 1959 film Rio Bravo. They have an album due this year, it could be very interesting.
Port Isla- Simple Sunrise (free download)
This song is from Norwich based band Port Isla. I think this is a really excellently written song and I hope they make more like this. The vocal melodies are lovely.
Head Hands and Feet- Song for Suzie
I found this song from Anika in London, one of my favourite blogs where I find lots of great music. It has that epic feel like songs like Night in White Satin by The Moody Blues and A Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Harum. It’s just great- I love songs like this, I think they are my favourite kind. I hope you enjoy it as much I have been doing.

Nice to see someone else picking up on David C. Clements. Just one of the great artists coming out of Belfast at the moment.
